The Sycamore Comes to Visit

Among Friends was delighted to welcome residents of The Sycamore for lunch and music this week.
After a getting to know one another over a tasty lunch, we all joined together with our music director, Martha TerMaat, for music.
At Among Friends, we don't just listen to music, we help to make music as well.

Our favorite drum is a conga. We have many of them, thanks to a grant from St. Croix Electric Co-Op a couple of years ago. They also helped us buy two sets of bongos. Add to the mix some maracas, tambourines, and other shakers, and we are ready to move with whatever music Martha has chosen for the day.

We have Johnny Cash days, Willie Nelson days, beach days, summer days, and marching band days. We like the Monkees and the Beatles. Throw in some John Fogerty, Nat King Cole, Elvis Presley, Beach Boys, Sly and the Family Stone, and even the Village People. Our tastes are eclectic. We often can't keep to our seats and have to dance.

Our friends from The Sycamore joined in on our fun and seemed to have a great time. Next time, we will visit them for lunch and a fun afternoon.
