Do You Love to Sing?

If you love to sing--in the shower or in the car or while doing dishes, cutting the grass, or gardening--we have another great place for you to sing your heart out. It will make you feel good and bring joy to others.

River Falls is beginning its own memory loss choir, Side-by-Side Choir. It is part of a national and international movement, Giving Voice, located in Minnesota, which has launched more than 70 choirs. Our choir will be one of 15 in rural Wisconsin and Minnesota to form this fall.

"The act of making music together taps into abilities that remain strong even as dementia progresses, fostering a sense of purpose, belonging, and emotional well-being," says Eyleen Braaten of Giving Voice. "Our choirs not only uplift spirits but also break down the isolation that often accompanies dementia, creating a space where every voice is valued."

If you have a loved one with dementia who loves music, we encourage you to join us on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10 a.m. at River Falls First Congregational Church (110 N. 3rd Street, River Falls). If you simply love to sing and want to make new friends, you are invited to be part of our choir. Everyone is welcome.
